Once you’ve done Wine Tasting 101, what’s next? This is a class designed to build on the fundamental skills of tasting and to introduce you to a few major styles and flavours in the wide world of red wine. We will journey through winemaking, cover tannin in detail and discuss nuances in flavour over two hours that may well make our teeth a little bit purple.
We’ll taste through five different reds and compare and contrast what makes them light vs full, lean vs round, fruity vs savoury. Expect to taste a few bona-fide classic varieties and a few that are off the beaten path ( as you know, we love to introduce you to new and unusual things at TiWS). Whether you’re somebody who only drinks red ( we know you’re out there!) or looking to differentiate what you like about certain wines, this class will build you a compendium of flavours and textures to get you started.
Note: Wine Tasting 101 is a helpful pre-requisite for this course, and we will use some terminology learned in it to describe wines throughout this class.
This is a two-hour class from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm on Thursday, October 22nd 2026 in Chinatown, Vancouver.
Must be 19+
