Part of what we do is partnering with wine regions around the world to organize tastings catered to the wine and hospitality trade in Vancouver. Sometimes, we even get the opportunity to extend the invite to our previous WSET alum, and wine enthusiasts. Check out the events below!

The rockstars of the wine world are visiting and you’re invited.
The Headliners series is an opportunity to introduce you to the great minds of the wine world, in a fun and casual class-as-interview format.
Join us for an hour of storytelling and biodynamic farming discussion with the folks from Lightfoot & Wolfville winery in the Annapolis Valley then stick around for a glass or two as we transform the classroom into a wine bar.
If you know about Nova Scotian wine you may know a few things: they make awesome sparkling wine, it’s hard to get your hands on, and if you’ve been lucky enough to visit they are some of the most hospitable and welcoming winemakers around. Lightfoot & Wolfville are leaders in regenerative farming so we will talk about everything from their unique grape varieties to the sheep that graze in their vineyards to the delicious oysters that grow in the ocean just outside their door— what better to pair with their long-aged and deliciously mineral traditional method sparkling wine?

Each ticket includes four samples of wines, served to guide the one hour of conversation.
Post-Class Wine Bar / 7-8:30 PM
(No tickets are needed to attend this portion of the evening)
After the class, wines by the glass are available for purchase at an additional cost (but fairly priced!). There will also be a chance to buy off-sales bottles to take home, too!

From the furthest Atlantic reaches of our fair nation, we are delighted to have Rachel Lightfoot of Lightfoot and Wolfville come to the West Coast! The Annapolis Valley is as cool and coastal as you can get for a wine region, so if crisp acidity and long lees-aged sparkling wines are your style, these are wines for you.
Arguably the nation's most focused ( and dare we say: most exciting?) sparkling wine region, we will talk all about bubbles and the many unique styles they make in Nova Scotia. Lightfoot & Wolfville are also leaders in regenerative farming, so we will talk about everything from their unique grape varieties to the sheep that graze in their vineyards to the delicious oysters that grow in the ocean just outside their door.

Trade only refers to those working professionally in a wine-centered business. Sometimes events are exclusively for those buying wine for retail stores and restaurants, and other times to focus is to bring importers together to try wineries that are looking to get into the British Columbian market. If you are unsure if you qualify for a spot at one of these events, please reach out to consulting@thisiswineschool.com.

These events are part of being in the wine trade. Being on time, notifying organizers when you are running late, and being mindful for communicating if you are unable to attend are all essential aspects of attending trade events. These are seminars and tasting where attendees are there to learn and develop professional relationships. Although fun, they are still work!
